The Browns release of wide receiver Andrew Hawkins shows that not even a guy who the head coach loves, not even a guy who's injected himself into a social issues debate, is immune from being cut when he doensn't produce enough.
Hue Jackson kept Hawkins around last year instead of Taylor Gabriel. Yeah, bad move.
But Hawkins was let go on Monday, and now hopes to hook on with someone. Maybe he'll go back to the Cincinnati Bengals.
