I thought it was strange on Tuesday morning when I saw this story on the web site of Channel 19 in Cleveland. I wondered how long something that explosive could be slow-played without details becoming public.
We now know the player in question is former OSU cornerback Gareon Conley, who was projected to go in the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday.
These are the sort of last-minute news stories that cause players to fall, and sometimes fall far.
Only time will tell if Conley's attachment to this story changes how teams view him at the top of the draft, which 1057 The Zone's Chris Spielman will analyze on Fox Sports Radio.
Be locked on The Zone on Thursday night for live cut-ins during Indians baseball and coverage of the first round following the Tribe game.
