Judge Will Make Final Decision On Who Gets Charles Manson's Body

The fate of Charles Manson's body has been in limbo ever since his death on November 19th. TMZ reports that three people have made claims for his corpse, and it will be up to a judge decide who gets the body.

The first person to attempt to claim the body was Manson's long-term pen pal Michael Channels, who claims he has a will from 2002 that grants him possession of the body. The validity of the will is in doubt, because it is barely legible, and Channels is listed as a witness.

That has allowed Manson's kin to protest the will, and make their own claims for the body of cult leader. Matthew Robert Lentz, who claims he is Manson's son, also filed a will with the court. That will only has the signature of one witness. In California, a will must be signed by two witnesses to be considered valid.

Jason Freeman is the third person to attempt to claim Manson's body. He says he is Manson's grandson, and has filed documents in an attempt to prove his is the son of Charles Manson Jr., which would make him the next of kin.

The matter now heads to court, where a judge will look over the documents and decide who has a valid legal claim to the body.
