Former High School Student Arrested After Making Threat To Kill 400 People

Alexis Wilson, 18

Authorities in Oklahoma arrested an 18-year-old woman who told a coworker that she wanted to go back to her former high school with a rifle and kill 400 people for fun. Police say Alexis Wilson allegedly made the threat as she showed a coworker a video of herself shooting an AK-47 she recently purchased. Deputies found the AK-47 along with a 12-gauge shotgun, multiple magazines, and rounds of ammunition when they searched her room.

Wilson told police she showed photos of her new gun to her coworker and claimed that "she didn't mean the statement to sound the way it did and that she was just trying to teach her coworker to not be afraid of firearms."

"In today's times, you can't say stuff like that. And anytime something is said, we are going to take it serious, and we are going to investigate it to the full extent and make an arrest if possible because we do not want any of our schools getting shot up. Nobody does, so we are going to do anything we can to prevent this," said Pittsburg County Sheriff Chris Morris.

Wilson has a history of problems at her former school. She was suspended in 2013 for bringing a knife to school and another time for having a swastika on her personal belongings. She never received a diploma from McAlester High School and was told she could not re-enroll. She wanted to take night classes to earn her GED, but the school only offered courses during the day, which she could not attend because of her work schedule.

"She had some problems, but I am not aware of anything would draw attention as a potential for something like this," said McAlester Public School Superintendent, Randy Hughes.

Wilson was charged with felony terrorist hoax and is being held on a $250,000 bond at the Pittsburg County Jail. She faces up to ten years in jail if she is convicted.
