Harley Quinn Sequel Might Feature Romance With Poison Ivy

Birds of Prey was a box office disappointment earlier this year, but the quarantine has given the film new life with an early VOD release. According to SlashFilm, director Cathy Yan would like to continue Harley Quinn's adventures and team her up with her longtime partner in crime Poison Ivy. Star Margot Robbie has also said in interviews that she was pushing to have Poison Ivy included during development of Birds of Prey, or Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), or Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey. The movie went by a few different titles.

Harley Quinn and plant-obsessed villainess Poison Ivy were first paired up back in the '90s in episodes of Batman: The Animated Series, during one of Harley's break-ups with the Joker. Their chemistry was a hit with fans and the partnership started showing up in comic books too. Their romantic involvement was usually only hinted at, but a comic book story made it official in 2015.

A sequel is definitely not a done deal, but Yan says she doesn't think fans are tired of Harley Quinn and that Margot Robbie isn't ready to stop playing her.
