Today is all treat and no trick. Florence + The Machine has released their sixth studio album, Everybody Scream, today (on Halloween).
Everybody Scream follows 2022's Dance Fever, and features 12 new tracks and showcases the band's signature blend of theatrics and tranquility. The album draws inspiration from Welch’s personal struggles, including a near-fatal health crisis in 2023. She describes Everybody Scream as a reflection on survival, womanhood, and reclaiming power through chaos. Thematically, it dives deep into mysticism, witchcraft, and cathartic release — blending pain with transcendence.
Musically, the project combines gothic folk, orchestral swells, and moody electronics. Collaborators include Aaron Dessner of The National, Mitski, and Mark Bowen of IDLES. The lead single and title track, “Everybody Scream,” arrived with a striking video by Autumn de Wilde, filled with blood-red visuals and ritualistic imagery.
The album will feature 12 songs, plus bonus "Chamber Versions" on special editions. Everybody Scream promises to be one of the band’s boldest works yet — a visceral, emotional, and cinematic journey into Florence Welch’s most powerful storytelling.
