Rapper Pays Tribute To The Wrong Beastie Boy In Song

It's always nice when musicians memorialize some of the greats, right?

That's exactly what rapper KRS-One set out to do in his latest track "Hip-Hop Speaks From Heaven," in which he mentions a bunch of deceased artists from the genre...including a Beastie Boy.

The only problem? He mentioned the wrong Beastie Boy! See The Beastie Boys lost Adam “MCA” Yauch to cancer in 2012...yet the song mentions Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz who is very much alive.

YIKES! The lyrics to the part go:

“Like a late fog in the mist/ I see King Ad-Rock and rest in peace Nate Dogg/ Their names and their natures will last … When it comes to Hip Hop/ Here’s the lesson/ Start praising your own people/ Hip Hop speaks from heaven."

Poor Ad-Rock!

KRS-One has since learned of his mistake sending out a lengthy apology, and saying he will even re-record the song to fix the error:
