Top Gun Sequel Will Include A New Version Of "Danger Zone"

Now that it's officially been announced that 80's movie Top Gun is getting a sequel called Top Gun: Maverick starring Tom Cruise, there's one burning question on everyone's mind. Of course, the question is: will the new movie include "Danger Zone?"

I mean the original is one of the greatest 80's tracks of all time, right? Well, TMZ caught up with Kenny Loggins, who recorded the original track, and he's all in!

He said the plan is to actually record a new version of the song with another rock band!

"I certainly hope so. I met Tom Cruise on [The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy] Fallon, and I asked him that question, and he said, of course, we have to use 'Danger Zone.'"

"I'm hoping to do it, maybe as a duet, with a young act."

Hmmm...so who will it be?? He wouldn't reveal much.

"I'm thinking about that right now, and I'd like to but I don't think that's a good idea because they may want to keep it secret. The rockers I'm interested in are male."

Well, that doesn't give much away does it? I mean the possibilities are endless here.

I COULD see Weezer doing a great cover after their recent one of "Africa" though...just saying.
