I don't know that there is any band more influential to alternative music than Nirvana, right?
While we'll never have a real reunion from the FULL band without Kurt Cobain (before everyone else says it too), it does look like the surviving members definitely have something planned!
This weekend is Cal Jam music festival curated by The Foo Fighters, and it looks like Dave Grohl has some big plans! They're not super subtle either.
In the past 24 hours there have been a few Tweets from the Foos account basically telling us there's some kind of special Nirvana performance planned.
One of the tweets from Cal Jam announces a screening of Joan Jett's new documentary. Remember when Joan fronted the band for a reunion at the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame? Foo Fighters responded by tweeting: “CAN’T WAIT!!!! What else could we have up our sleeves???” Stay tuned….”
THEN they shared footage from the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame after party from 2014. That tweet included the caption, “This is a Jam @caljamfest #CalJam18." That was then retweeted by Nirvana’s verified Twitter account.
All the surviving members will be there too with Dave and Pat Smear being in the Foos, and Krist Novoselic's band Giants in the Trees schedule to perform as well! And then there's Joan Jett and John McAuley of Deer Tick who both appeared during that 2014 reunion.
This could be pretty huge, right?? I guess we'll have to stay tuned.... as the Foos have told us!
