Fyre Festival Founder Sentenced To 6 Years In Prison

The courts have spoken, and now we know the fate of Fyre Festival founder Billy McFarland...and it isn't good.

McFarland created what was called an "upscale music festival" which cost concert-goers a TON to see bands like Blink-182 and more!

What actually happened was that none of the bands performed, and the people were sent to what was described as post-apocalyptic mayhem.

Now it has been decided that McFarland will serve 6 years in prison for scamming all of these people out of their money.

Speaking to a packed courtroom he said: “The remorse I feel is crushing. I lived every day with the weight of knowing that I literally destroyed the lives of my friends and family.”

However, this was not accepted by the court judge who said: “It is my conclusion based on all the submissions that the defendant is a serial fraudster and that to date his fraud like a circle has no ending,” This was not a good idea gone bad, the bad intent was long withstanding."

Yeah...that sounds about right.

While he originally faced forty years in federal prison, it was lowered to six years and three years supervised release.

It sounds like dude had his hands in a lot of bad things, and I hope he's not allowed to work in any sort of "event planning" ever again.

We will get to see all the ins and outs of what happened with Fyre in that upcoming documentary being made by Hulu.
