Was Rapper Vince Staples Inspired By Green Day With New Album Cover?

Did you know that hip-hop artist Vince Staples just came out with a new album last week called "FM!"?

While that's normally not something we'd report on, it seems that the album cover looks familiar! This new album cover was created by Japanese artist Verdy showing the album title coming out of the sea towards a beach with a bunch of people around it. 

Does it seem like a cover you've seen before? Maybe like the album cover for Green Day classic "Dookie?" It seems that homage has been paid to the album which was created by Richie Bucher.

While Vince himself hasn't commented on whether this was intentional, it definitely caught the attention of Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong! In fact, he posted the cover to his Instagram with the caption "I love this." So, obviously he approves!
