This year marks the 50th anniversary of the original Woodstock music festival, and we know there are BIG plans afoot to mark the celebration!
We already know there's a big 50th anniversary celebration happening in Watkins Glen, NY from August 16th to the 18th, but as of today we hadn't heard any artists playing the bill!
Well, the full lineup has yet to be revealed BUT we're now hearing some of the confirmed artists via a new article from Billboard.
The article, which was actually written to address the rumored financial trouble of the new festival, also revealed some of the biggest acts planned to take the new Woodstock stage. The names we've heard so far? The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Chance The Rapper, Dead & Company, and original Woodstock performer Santana!
We had heard that the lineup would be very diverse full of some of the biggest names in the various genres as well as some who originally took the stage, and this does seem to reflect that so far!
“There’s always been lots of rumors around Woodstock,” original Woodstock producer and Woodstock 50 organizer Michael Lang says.“We have excellent partners and an incredible talent lineup of over 80 artists which will be announced within the next couple of weeks. We’re preparing a once in a lifetime event.”
So who else will be part of the bill? Looks like we'll find out soon!
