#HarveyRelief How You Can Help

This is all too familiar to me. When Katrina came through in 2005 it followed the exact path of of my family. I remember the frantic calls between aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins then the silence. Phones went dead and we lost all contact. My father, a retired emergency room doctor, went home to Bay St Louis, MS where Katrina made landfall to help and said there were no streets left-the pavement had been pulled away into the ocean. It was just sand. The town was leveled. My mother saw her childhood home in Slidell, LA on the news-you could only see the top 5 feet of the roof above water. We had family members that went missing and were only found almost a week later after they swam, waded, and finally walked out of New Orleans. The thought of the absolute devastation to so many places that I held close to my heart still gets to me.

Texas and Louisiana need your help and they will for a long time. Hurricane Harvey is not done yet. They are expecting another 15-20 inches of rain.

Please donate your time, your money, your blood-whatever you can.
