I was obsessed with Sonic Highways when it came out in 2014. Not just the Foo Fighters album, but the documentary series behind it. There were so many legendary stories from rock, country, punk, and jazz legends that I had never heard. These amazing stories of their hometowns and the studios that shaped them.
I did an interview with their front man Dave Grohl around that time and asked him if he was kicking around the idea of a season two and he agreed without hesitation
“Well, we’ve been working on it for six years now, and . . . I’m kidding,” Grohl told Rolling Stone. “That door is always open. And a lot of great things have stemmed from that series. There are now kids in schools across the country making their own Sonic Highways about the little towns where they live.
“I still have the concept for the second season, so, someday.”
